We’ve got you
covered
We cover the following areas, click below to find out more and how we can help:
Birth Injuries
Birth injuries can change the life of you and your family forever. Unfortunately, some birth injuries occur as a result of doctor and/or hospital negligence during labour and delivery.
Medication and Prescription Errors
When we rely on medications and prescriptions, we do so to control or better our current state of health. Doctors and pharmacists can make mistakes when prescribing and dispensing medications, and unfortunately, these errors can have catastrophic consequences for the patient.
Anesthesia Malpractice
Administering anesthetic requires high degree of skill and care to bring a patient to a state of unconsciousness so they can receive a medical or dental procedure without causing pain or suffering during the procedure. Anesthesia malpractice can result in a number of injuries.
Missed or Delayed Diagnosis
Missed or delayed diagnoses can occur if a doctor has failed or been late in identifying and diagnosing an injury, condition, or disease. A failure to properly identify or diagnose can result in serious and permanent impairment, illness or even death.
Nursing Negligence
Patients can sometimes leave the hospital in a worse condition than when they arrived. Nurses are held to a standard of care and if their conduct falls below that standard, they may be sued for negligence.
Surgical Error
There are risks associated with surgeries, depending on the type of procedure being performed and the health of the patient. In Canada, doctors are required to inform their patients of the risks associated with any surgery and obtain a signed consent form before performing any surgical procedure. A surgical error can occur before, during or after any procedure.
Nursing Home Negligence
An increasing number of senior citizens are injured every year as a result of nursing home negligence and assisted living facility negligence.
Failure to Obtain Consent
In Canada, a medical doctor or treatment provider is required to obtain informed consent from every patient before providing treatment or performing a procedure. If a patient receives inaccurate or impartial information and elects to proceed with the proposed course of treatment or procedure, informed consent may not have been provided. And when a doctor or treatment provider fails to obtain informed consent, they may be held liable for medical negligence.
